Landslide Time Forecasting Methods¶
This wiki is built on a literature review carried out as part of the ongoing research project "Assessment of Climatic Factors on Slope Stability" of the
ibu-Instituteat
HSR University, Rapperswil, Switzerland. The literature review focused on time forecasts of landslides. Methods are classified by parameters required to make a prediction (i.e. in-situ measurements or climatic conditions). Each Method is summarized and references are given. The aim of this wiki is to give an overview of previously made attempts in landslide prediction and to adress future research needs and challenges.
This review has shown a strong need for low-cost warning systems for landslides. To adress this issue, current research activities in the field of wireless sensor networks are presented.
